goodbye guatemala !

hello everyone! I haven’t done an update in a while, but I wanted to come on here and share some special moments from the last weeks in Guatemala! We left Guatemala about a week ago which breaks my heart because I love the people there so much! We just arrived in Jeffrey’s Bay and I just started my new ministry which I will explain in another blog. I’m super excited to be here and I already love it so much. I wanted to share with you guys what the last couple of weeks looked like in Guatemala.

We finished our main ministry with the Church in Jocotenango. For the youth group we had a celebration to finish off the year and it was at a place called Eco Farms. It was beautiful and such a special time filled with laughter, joy, and great conversations! I’m going to miss those people so much! The kids all have the sweetest hearts and it was so cool to see their vulnerability with us. We also wrapped up our english lessons with the kids at the Church. We had a big review time and then all the kids gave us teacher notes and hugs. It was the sweetest thing. We also got to have lunch with all the staff who helped with english lessons every week. It was like a little party! They made us steak and we made them cheesecake! We also played musical chairs with them, which was such a blast. This party was also filled with a lot of laughter and great conversations, which made it even harder to say goodbye!

Here are some pictures we took the last days we were with everyone!

These were the all the kids my team and I taught English.

This picture is them eating snacks before they left to go home!

This is Liz and the notes and flowers we made for our ministry hosts!

This little girl always had a smile on her face:)

This was us playing link tag with the kids. It was not easy!

This picture is us walking back from the field to head back to their house.

This little girl is our friend Amy who we got to pray for and just have fun conversations with.

These are all just small glimpses of what my time here Guatemala looked like! These people I will never forget and I’m so honored I got to spend 2 months with them! Guatemala was such a time of growth for me and also a time of joy and love. When we first arrived we got together as a team and thought of visions that we saw God speaking over our time in Guatemala. As you guys know, my team name means new hope and we just saw God speaking hope over our ministries. Leaving Guatemala I can definitely look back and see the hope that sprung up in people’s hearts. It was sad to leave, but I’m certain I will be back to visit the people I made relationships with.

Thanks for reading! If any of you would like to set up a phone call with me to know more about my time in Guatemala just email me at [email protected].
