MEET TEAM AURORA!!

On the race the squad(about 40 people) break off into 6 teams of about 6 people. In these teams we do everyday ministry with. Aurora means  new hope. When we came up with our team we thought of a sunrise and with a sunrise comes a new day or a new dawn. The word has come up so much while we have been in Guatemala which has just been a confirmation to us that this word is supposed to be our team name. Let my introduce these lovely people to you!

Abigail is from Kansas! Abby brings such a light to the team and a sense of comfort and peace. She has so much wisdom to share. I have already learned so much from her already and I can’t wait to serve alongside her for the next 7 months!

Anna is our team leader and she is from Colorado! She has committed to staying on the race the whole 9 months. She will team lead over all the teams and be with us the whole time!! YAYY. Anna brings so much comfort and consistency to the team. She leads us with confidence and grace, but can also be all of our best friend at the same time! I can’t wait to learn more from her over the next 7 months!

Kristy is from Colorado! Kristy has such a heart of gold and so much care for people. She continues to always serve others first and is always willing to help out in anyway she can. I can’t wait to serve alongside her the next 7 months!

Liz is from Minnesota! Liz brings so much joy and rawness to the team. She has so much wisdom and advice to give the team and it has been an honor to learn from her. She also is a queen at speaking Spanish and helps translate for the team! Thanks God! I can’t wait to keep serving alongside her the next 7 months!

Peyton is from Pennsylvania! Peyton brings so much authenticity and love to the team. She has such a heart for people, especially the kids, and it has been so fun to watch her play with and talk to the people here in Guatemala! Peyton is a friend to all. I can’t wait keep working alongside her the next 7 months!

Jules is from Tennessee! Jules brings so much spunkiness and truth to the team. She is always willing to learn and grow in so many different ways. It’s been amazing to watch her step out of her comfort zone and connect with the people here even though there is a language barrier. I can’t wait to keep serving alongside her for the next 7 months!

I love these girls a lot and it has been such a joy to get to know them on a deeper level and just live life all together. While we were in Georgia we set a goal for where we want our team to be at the end of the race. The statement we came up with is “We are women who celebrate and build each other up.” When I heard this I saw an image of all of us with party hats on and tools in our hands in a home under construction. I can’t wait to see where God takes us these next 7 months and how much we will have learned.
