hello everyone! My team and I get the privilege to do home visits with some of the staff from Timion. Since January we haven’t been able to go with them just because of covid regulations, but they are letting us go these last two weeks with them. It is such an honor to be able to do this with them. A home visit looks like going to the home and visiting with the mom and the child with cerebral palsy. Having conversations with the mom, playing with the child, and praying with them as well.

The first house we visited the child was 4 years old and doing so so good! Playing with toys, blowing us kisses, and giving us high fives. BIG PRAISES! Timion gave this mother a posture chair and she was so grateful for it especially because she’s been waiting for a wheelchair from the hospital for 2 years. This little boy was so happy when he sat in this chair and the mom couldn’t help but smile. The mom is a foster mom for 3 boys and her love for the Lord is so seen in the way that she loves these kids. Down below is a picture of us and the mom and child! he is sitting in his new posture chair!

The posture chair is very good for kids with this disability because it helps their muscles not tense up and instead lets them relax. It was cool to see all the parts come together to make this chair and see how it is used. Usually we work in the workshop and sand these parts that go to the equipment but half the time we don’t know what it’s for. So it was amazing to see how they configured the chair perfectly for this child’s body.

The second home visit we went to was with a newer mom and her son. Timion has only visited her once and she is pretty closed off. They saw progress today in the way she communicated and interacted with us. It was sad to see how discouraged she looked, so if you guys could just pray for this mother. Pray that she finds a new hope and doesn’t feel like she is any less because of her child’s disability. Pray for wisdom for Timion on what to do in the situation and that they can build a strong relationship with this woman.

That’s really it for this blog. It was such a blessing though to be able to go to these homes and visit with these moms. Thanks God for giving us this opportunity to encourage and pray for these families. The garden is doing amazing and the vegetables are growing so fast ! I hope you guys have a good rest of your week! If you have any questions or would like to know more about what i’m doing just email me at [email protected].
